The exciting prospect is we can expand the B&B choice not only to UK destinations but pretty much anywhere in the world, we explored a few of the websites and destinations available. Airbnb www.airbnb.com is taking the world by storm, founded back in 2008 after its founders decided to put air beds in their San Francisco loft and offer them up to attendees of a political conference. You search from thousands of rooms available in pretty much every destination imaginable, select dates and options and book. Be prepared to make your own breakfast though!, these properties/rooms are not rented by professionals they tend to be the flats and houses of ordinary people looking to make some extra money. A popular destination to search in is the stunning City of Bath: The city became a spa with the Latin name Aquae Sulis (“the waters of Sulis”) c. AD 60 when the Romans built baths and a temple in the valley of the River Avon, although hot springs were known even before then. Bath became popular as a spa town in the Georgian era. Stunning beaches take you back to a by –gone age of glamour with beach huts and dressing rooms. The bars, restaurants and shops are delightful-but watch out unless you’ve won the lottery some are best for browsing only! From Deauville you are ideally placed to visit The D Day landing areas, for the Americans : Utah and Omaha beaches either side of the River Vire estuary; British and Commonwealth troops stormed slightly further east at Gold, Juno and Sword Beaches – roughly between Arromanches and Ouistreham.
