Now I’ve always wanted to add climbing Mount Everest to my CV but several monumental obstacles stood in my way, vertigo being one. Thanks to the brilliance of the special effects team and 3D technology here is a movie to make you feel you’re scaling the heights.

With a cast including Keira Knightley, Emily Watson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright (House of Cards), Michael Kelly and Sam Worthington the acting talent doesn’t exactly lack gravitas. Based on real events,Everest tells the story of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster and the subsequent rescue attempts of two expedition groups. Directed by Icelantic Baltasar Kormákur and written by William Nicholson and Simon Beaufoy.
