Not to be confused with the legendry crooner Matt Monro (different spelling)! a Munro is the name for a mountain in Scotland with a height over 3,000 feet (910 m). Named after Sir Hugh Munro there are hundreds of Munros waiting for you to conquer them.With so many amazing peaks around the world we can often overlook the most stunning landscapes in our own British Isles? No jet-lag involved here, fly, drive or take the train to the Highlands of Scotland for breathtaking scenery.

The most famous Munro is Ben Nevis the highest peak in the British Isles, with an elevation of 4,409 feet (1,344 m).

Other notable Munros include:
Ben Lomond: 3,196 ft (974 m), the most southerly of the Munros.
Ben Hope in Sutherland: 3,041 feet (927 m), is the most northerly Munro.
Ben Macdui: 4,295 ft (1,309 m); and Cairn Gorm, 4,085 ft (1,245 m) in the Cairngorms
Buachaille Etive Mòr: 3,350 ft (1,021 m), at the entrance to Glencoe, one of the most photographed Munros
Beinn Eighe: 3,310 ft (1,010 m), in Torridon
Liathach: 3,461 ft (1,055 m), in Torridon
Lochnagar: 3,789 ft (1,155 m), a mountain near the Royal Castle of Balmoral in the area of Glen Muick
Schiehallion: 3,553 ft (1,083 m), a mountain often described as lying at the centre of Scotland, in Perth and Kinross
Sgùrr nan Gillean: 3,163 ft (964 m); Sgùrr Alasdair: 3,251 ft (991 m) and the Inaccessible Pinnacle, 3,235 ft (986 m)[19] in the Cuillin Hills on the Isle of Skye
